Dollar Tree Nail Polish Bottles for Frankening

Not too long ago, I bought eight (yes, eight!) of the water-based french manicure nail polish sets from Dollar Tree in order to use the bottles to franken some new nail polish colors. The colored polishes were kind of pretty, so I had to try them out. I tried one of the white tip polishes and found that it was kind of like school glue in that it went on white but dried clear. I then tried out the colored polishes. They were indeed pretty, but they peeled off just like the kiddie nail polish that you had to beg you mom for when you were little, because she just knew that it would end up all over the floor. (And it usually did!)

Cleaning out the bottles with the white and colored polishes was no big deal. I dumped out most of the polish and then used the sprayer in the kitchen sink to force more water into the little bottles and then dumped it out. I added a bit more water and then shook the bottles to get the last remains of the polish out. They're currently sitting on the counter so that they can dry out before I get to do the fun part.

I think that these bottles are the perfect size for frankening as they are only .2 oz, so you aren't wasting a whole bunch of polish if your concoction accidentally turns out to look like baby poo. That is, unless that was your desired result! ;) It only cost me $8US for 24 bitty bottles. (Bitty is my daughter's word for little.)
